Harley was born and raised in New York City where he was surrounded by some of the most spectacular and well respected museums and galleries in the world. While he studied economics at Northwestern, he always had a tremendous appreciation for art, having taken a number of different art history courses both in high school and in college.
In the fall of 2013, Harley was in Chelsea Market and discovered an exhibit of a food artist that completely fascinated him, as he had never seen this form of art before. Working in sales and operations, Harley was looking for a creative outlet and thought that food art would be the perfect fit since it combined his two passions: art and food.
Since plating his first piece of food art in 2013, he has gained a loyal following of 36,000 followers on Instagram and has worked with a number of different companies including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Food Network, illy, Whole Foods, and MTV, creating special pieces for their social media platforms.
